name change

I'll probably do it later on, that is, change my last name back to my Korean birth name. My western name isn't common, no one knows how to pronounce it, and in general it's just annoying. But I wouldn't do it while my parents are alive, probably. I guess I'd feel insulting to them or something...I dunno.

  1. I have been reading your posts and really did not feel compelled to comment until now. I was enjoying what I was reading and finding it interesting...As an adoptive parent of Korean children, if my kids came to me and said that they had considered all of the options and what to change their names back to their Korean last name I would be right next to them through the process. Heck I might even reactivate my law license to do it for them, the way I see it is the only reason I was allowed to have the pleasure of raising them - I do not get to strip them of everything that makes them who they are and if they feel I did that by changing their last name then I will happily give it back. You should talk to your adoptive parents, they could support you (I have not read too far back so maybe I am wrong). Good luck and please go for it!
